The suspected shooter in an apparent assassination attempt on former President Trump at his Florida golf club on Sunday has been identified as Ryan Wesley Routh, multiple outlets report.

The big picture: Police have not publicly named the man they've accused of using "an AK-47 style rifle" in what they believe was an assassination attempt on Trump, but law enforcement officials told multiple outlets that the 58-year-old Routh is the suspect they took into custody following the incident.
